Satellite wind data
The satellite wind observations are shown as a series of arrows over the ocean. The wind strength at each arrow is indicated by the traditional method of the number of barbs on the arrow, and also by its colour. Note that sometimes there are sections missing where the satellite did not capture that part of the ocean. For this reason, we have included ‘ascending’ and ‘descending’ passes.
